London UK – Laptops for the Homeless Support Initiative today announced their laptops donation facility with Southwark Council is officially open. Anticipating high volumes of disused laptops with the newly planted donation collection box, partnership with the Southwark Council will further their efforts to re-home laptops to the homeless in accommodation services on their way to employment fruition.
Social enterprise SocialBox.Biz and homelessness charity Thames Reach places these laptops in the hands of homeless in accommodation on their way to employment.
“We are encouraging anyone and everyone to utilize our collection of disused but still working laptops donations box," said Peter Paduh, Founder of SocialBox.Biz. “Our partnership with the Southwark Council has given us expanded reach to collect disused laptops and re-home them to those most in need. This new collection facility is now available, and we are expecting helpful donations in upcoming weeks."
Laptops are for the benefit of those registered clients of homelessness charity Thames Reach London who are already in accommodation and on their way of getting their lives back on track – Homelessness service includes accommodation, training and other valuable support.
SocialBox.Biz arranged re-homing of disused laptops to homeless individuals already registered with accommodation services. Their initiative then gives disenfranchised members of society a chance to rejoin and extra hope to start on the path of getting their lives back on track.
“We are very excited to help SocialBox.Biz make a meaningful difference in the lives of many," said Southwark Council Councillor Ian Wingfield. “Please spread the word and utilize our box for furthering employment and resource opportunities for the homeless in accommodation services."
