Hale Barns Carnival is to return this July for its 6th year with an amazing weekend of Big Headline Concerts, Family Attractions, Supercar displays, Makers Markets, Artisan Food & Drink and much more!

This year’s festival takes place from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th July 2022 and will once again be staged on the St Ambrose Playing Fields in Hale Barns, with organisers planning its biggest festival to date!

The Open Air Concerts return each evening across the weekend with Friday night headliner

& Top tenor; Russell Watson launching the 2022 Hale Barns Carnival in style as he headlines an unmissable evening of Proms favourites, returning due to phenomenal demand!

The Salford-born superstar singer will take centre stage on Friday 15 July at the start of the weekend festival which returns bigger and better this year!

The UK’s Best Selling Classical Artist returns to Hale Barns Carnival after performing a socially distanced concert last year, the top tenor returns and will be performing proms classics alongside hits from his record-breaking debut solo album The Voice reached the number one chart spot – a position it held for a world record 52 weeks, catapulting the singer into the international spotlight.

He will be joined at Hale Barns by his band to perform a specially curated set full of Proms classics, including stirring anthems like Jerusalem and Rule Britannia, and Puccini’s aria Nessun Dorma.

Saturday Night will be headlined by Acclaimed Soul legends from Liverpool; THE REAL THING featuring original band members Chris Amoo and Dave Smith. The group have sold millions of records worldwide and will be performing all their hits live including their multi-million selling number one singles; 'You To Me Are Everything', ' Can't Get By Without You' and 'Feel the Force'.

The Real Thing replace Alexander O’Neal as the Saturday night headliner who had to pull out of performing at the event this year due to unexpected scheduling issues.

Sunday night’s concert will be headlined by ROSE ROYCE Legend; Gwen Dickey who will be performing all the band’s biggest hits live on stage including ‘Wishing on a Star’, ‘Car Wash’, ‘Love Don’t Live Here Anymore’ and many more.

Gwen Dickey is the front-woman and face of the R&B band ROSE ROYCE where she performed under the name Rose Norwalt. In 1976, her lead vocals on the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "Car Wash" brought Dickey and the band immediate international fame and her and the band went onto to have numerous hits including ‘I’m Going Down’ , ‘Love Don’t Live Here Anymore’ and ‘Wishing on a Star’.

The Sunday evening event is a fundraising concert for local charity; Brainwave who celebrate their 40th Anniversary this year.

The fundraising concert is supported and sponsored by local businesses; NSS Group & We Are Curves.

Organiser; Max Eden spoke of his excitement ahead of this year’s event - ‘This is our 6th year and we have lots of really exciting features and attractions for this year’s event. I am thrilled that we can again announce a line up of incredible headliners for Hale Barns Carnival this year, and also support the amazing Brainwave charity alongside. I’m so looking forward to flag waving and pimms on Friday night, getting our groove on with The Real Thing on Saturday night and seeing Rose Royce legends on stage on Sunday!’

‘When we started Hale Barns Carnival, I wanted to create an event for the whole community to come and enjoy, a platform to have the opportunity to showcase the amazing community groups, charities, businesses and talented performers in our area alongside bringing some of the biggest names in music from around the world to perform in our village!’

The headline evening concerts are once again complemented by a two-day free Hale Barns Carnival family event on the Saturday and Sunday (16th and 17th July).

The daytime programme will feature attractions including local performances and live music, traditional Funfair, Maker’s Market, Artisan Food & Drink, Kids Crafts, Supercar Displays and dazzling family entertainment!

Daytime entry is free from 12 noon until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend event is sponsored by B&M Bargains, Benchmark Security Group & We Are Curves alongside NSS Group who will be sponsoring the Sunday Night Charity Concert.

Previous headliners of Hale Barns Carnival include Boney M, Martin Kemp, Odyssey & Katrina and the Waves.
