To donate laptops, individuals need to first isolate the items they wish to donate, and once the items is isolated, they are to include any keyboards, mouses, software, etc. that came with the original purchase if they are still available.

Next, clearing the computer of any passwords, personal information, and documents is important for security down the line. After all that is completed, the laptop is ready for donation.

“We are just asking people to put in a few extra minutes of their time to make sure the devices are wiped of any information that is confidential,” said Samuel. “Donating these laptops is going to give disenfranchised, homeless, and elderly individuals living below poverty line and in isolation a chance at participating in society. It’s the embodiment of the holiday spirit. We hope to grow our donation numbers this season!

Donation collection boxes

SocialBox.Biz provides donation collection boxes to collect no longer needed but still working laptop PCs, Apple mac laptops, I-phones, I-pads etc and redistribute some of them to disadvantaged individuals. By working local charitable organisations they organise "Laptop Handover events".
