New York Client Solutions Hopeful New Unemployment Figures May Suggest Abundant Holiday Shopping Season

News provided by New York Client Solutions on Monday 9th Dec 2013

A newly published report reveals that unemployment fell to the lowest in five years in November as employers added 203,000 jobs. New York Client Solutions expect that these positive figures will boost sales during the holiday shopping season.

The U.S. Labor Department report, published on Friday, 6 December shows that the unemployment rate has declined to 7.0% compared to 7.3% in October this year. This means that unemployment is at its lowest level in five years (www.fordyceletter.com). Colin Moore, Managing Director of New York Client Solutions, says: “This wave of optimism is well needed and comes at the right time, just in the beginning of this year’s Christmas shopping season.”

The report demonstrates economic strength that even surprised economists who expected lower numbers. “This is just a clean sweep. It is a very good report. It’s across the board,” says Stuart Hoffman, Chief Economist for PNC Financial Services Group. Economists asked by Reuters had been expecting a much more reserved improvement to an unemployment rate of 7.2% (www.fordyceletter.com). Colin Moore of New York Client Solutions says: “Economists are not the only ones surprised, consumers are too! People are really positive and looking forward to celebrating a memorable and special festive season this year.”

Some critics however warn about the current euphoria as temp jobs during the Christmas season may be the reason for the recently published figures. In fact, temp staffing is one of the growth areas, adding 16,400 jobs after a modest October, when 9,100 jobs were added. Over the past year, temp and contract labor agencies have added 219,000 new jobs (www.fordyceletter.com).

New York Client Solutions are very positive that 2013 will end with a boom in Christmas sales for many firms. Colin Moore says: “After years of struggle, people in the U.S. want to make this Christmas special and are expected to spend more than in previous years since the beginning of the recession in 2008.”

New York Client Solutions is an outsourced sales and marketing company based in Manhattan. The firm raises brand awareness, sells and promotes products and services on its clients’ behalf. New York Client Solutions have already seen an enormous increase in sales last weekend and are expecting a further boost for the coming two weeks ahead. “The Labor Department report came at the right time. People are in the spending mood,” summarizes Colin Moore. New York Client Solutions are now concentrating on a fabulous Christmas season. After that Colin Moore can focus on his plans to open up into further markets by April 2014.
