rare aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow, is the most common form of acute leukemia in adults. Know AML formalized AML World Awareness Day 6 years ago on April 21, 2017.

On April 21, 2023, we will continue to campaign with help from our global network and community to increase understanding of AML and bring attention to the resources available. Know AML is asking people to get involved with our AML World Awareness Day campaign, #MyStoryOurJourney. More information, details on how to get involved, and resources can be found here.

Everyone can make a difference on AML World Awareness Day by downloading and sharing our My Story Our Journey patient and expert interviews, downloading, editing, and sharing our translatable assets, following the Know AML social channels, and using the hashtags #KnowAML and #MyStoryOurJourney. You can get involved both online and offline and encourage others to get involved too!

“I am so grateful for Know AML World Awareness Day 2023 for two key reasons. The first is that I am still here to participate in the program after having AML for 8 years. Secondly, as a patient ambassador for most of that time, I have watched as the Know AML organization has grown and shared exciting information about new treatments, doctors with critical AML skills, and caregiving. All of this might provide hope to the thousands of people of all ages who receive an AML diagnosis every year.”
Ralph Hills, Know AML Ambassador and Survivor
