KalSudha, a digital experience company based out of London, United Kingdom, that supports and promotes global artists, music labels, and companies, is launching the Kala Festival, a series of Indian instrumental music evenings spread over the month of August.

Music Without Boundaries

The event starts with "Music without Boundaries" on the 17th of August at the West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge. This concert aims to use music as a universal medium that transcends cultural and linguistic divisions through the roots of classical ragas and contemporary melodies, showcasing the boundless essence of music.

Noteworthy artists at this event include the likes of Debasis Chakroborty on the Indian Slide Guitar, Deepak Shah on the resonant Piano, Durjay Bhaumik on the tabla, and Dr Lovely Sharma on the Sitar. Commenting on this event, Mr Rajeev Kumar, the chief organiser of the Kala Festival and principal architect of KalaSudha, said, "I am excited about celebrating our rich Indian musical heritage at the Kala Festival, where musical exponents from across India will come together to weave intricate melodies and enchant audiences. This event promises to be an unparalleled showcase of Indian classical instrumental music, fostering cultural exchange and nurturing the timeless traditions of our musical heritage."

Concert for Harmony and Peace

The festival moves on to The Bhavan in London on the 19th of August for the Concert for Harmony and Peace to promote unity and understanding close to India's Independence Day. This event also features Debasis Chakroborty on the Indian Slide Guitar, Deepak Shah on the resonant Piano, Durjay Bhaumik on the tabla, and Dr Lovely Sharma on the Sitar.

"Being invited to perform at the Kala Festival, celebrating the essence of Indian instrumental music, is an exciting honour as a Slide Guitarist. I am excited to share the intricate nuances of Indian musical traditions with a discerning audience, and I hope to create an unforgettable experience that resonates with the hearts of music lovers everywhere," said Pundit Debasis Chakraborty, the Indian Slide Guitar exponent about performing at the Kala Festival.

A Journey Through Nature

The next event of the festival is at the Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead, on the 23rd of August, featuring the trio of Debasis Chakroborty, Deepak Shah, and Durjay Bhaumik. The event called An Instrumental Journey Through Nature, blends Indian classical music with peaceful natural vibes and aims to help audiences break free from their daily routine and become with nature.

"Participating in the Kala Festival, that celebration of Indian classical music fills my heart with immense joy and gratitude. As a tabla player, I look forward to collaborating with fellow virtuosos, exploring the depths of our heritage, and creating music that transcends boundaries and connects with the universal language of music," said Durjay Bhaumik, the Indian Tabla exponent about performing at the festival.

The finale

The event culminates on the 27th of August at The Great Hall, Devon, in a show that features the trio of Debasis Chakroborty, Deepak Shah, and Durjay Bhaumik. The Trinity Trio show brings together three Indian classical music maestros on a single stage to create timeless music that lingers on.
