Digbeth, Birmingham will be thriving on the weekend of 6th September, when over 100 street artists, including the renowned Inkie, descend on the area for Birmingham’s City of Colours Street Festival. alphaTALK, a Digbeth based, Voip UK Company, are proud to be part of the passion for urban culture, the Festival celebrates. alphaTALK, is creating an alliance with the Festival by lending its Digbeth Court office wall, archway and car park to be enriched with a sea of colour during the Festival.
The City of Colours Street Festival, which is a new and exciting addition to Birmingham’s cultural calendar, will turn Digbeth streets, including alphaTALK’s hosted Voip offices and car park, into the UK's largest outdoor gallery: bringing the pleasure of urban art to all. The Festival, funded by the Arts Council, will be held across multiple Digbeth venues, with live painting, music, beat boxers, live illustration battles, and other visual art performances.
The aim of the Festival, is to raise awareness of the Digbeth based, St Basil’s homeless Charity. It will also serve as a platform for promoting emerging street artists as well as showcasing the works of well-known artists such as Inkie, GENT 48 and Dan Kitchener. For aspiring urban artists, workshops on offer include: graffiti art, break dancing and music production.
Zafar Majid, Director of Voip phone Company, alphaTALK, stated: “It’s great to be a part of this celebration of urban art, offering our offices and car park as canvasses for urban artwork, to support emerging street artists. It’s also great to take part in the regeneration of Digbeth. We hope the artwork will bring pleasure to all those who pass by our Digbeth Court Offices each day”.
The creative alliance between alphaTALK and the City of Colours Festival will be a long term partnership. alphaTALK, as a Digbeth based Company, are keen to support the Festival as it celebrates the rich cultural diversity of Birmingham each year. alphaTALK's prominent, Voip phone, office wall and archways will reflect urban art’s dynamism in Birmingham for years to come.
