VOITH INDUSTRIAL SERVICES WINS CONTRACT WITH JAGUAR LAND ROVER

Voith Industrial Services, a leading service provider to the UK automotive industry, has won a contract with Jaguar Land Rover.

The contract involves managing a range of services at Jaguar Land Rover's UK manufacturing plants at Solihull, Castle Bromwich, and Halewood.

The contract, an extension of existing Voith Industrial Services' business with Jaguar Land Rover, involves 700 employees.

Voith Industrial Services, the world's leading provider of technical cleaning services in paint shops in 80 car plants worldwide, will continue the same services at Jaguar Land Rover's three UK plants.

Other technical services that Voith will be responsible for include electrical, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning maintenance. Facility management services will also include janitorial cleaning, office cleaning, waste management and buildings.

Recently Voith Industrial Services made further inroads into the UK automotive sector by winning contracts with Peugeot and Vauxhall Motors

At Luton, where Voith Industrial Services has carried out a wide range of services since the later 1990s, Voith was the only major supplier to be represented on the manufacturing launch team for Vauxhall's new Vivaro van.

Voith is responsible for managing and controlling all incoming material for the engine dress process. Engineers will prepare engine kits, and assemble the gearbox and ancillary parts to the engine including starter motors, alternators, power take-off, pulleys, fan belts, and the full wiring harness.

Voith has also recently won a £2 million facility management contract with Peugeot Citroen Automobiles UK Ltd. in Coventry.

The two-year contract covers two locations. At Pinley House, the UK headquarters which employs 600 people for Peugeot Motor Company, Voith is carrying out the cleaning of offices, post room, and reception as well as managing security and on-site facilities maintenance.

At Peugeot's Tile Hill distribution centre, a 30,000 sq. metre warehouse that handles thousands of parts and accessories for dealer networks throughout the UK and Ireland, Voith is responsible for cleaning, battery charging, and security services.

In the UK Voith Industrial Services employs 2,400 people – mainly at customer sites across the country. The company has an increasing sales turnover and provides services in four main areas – facility management, technical cleaning, wheel and tyre assembly, and managed processes.
