Top 10 Events To 'Tickle Your Taste Buds' At The 10th Annual Leeds Food And Drink Festival

As the Leeds Food and Drink Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary it promises to be the biggest and best the city has ever seen.

There are countless events taking place between May 22 until June 7, so to get a taste of Leeds at its very best, here are the top 10 tantalising treats, scrumptious shows, and delicious demonstrations which are not be missed:

1. World Feast – A tasty event inspired by street food from around the world. So whether you fancy fish and chips, jerk chicken or spit roast lamb, come on down and savour these world delights.Briggate – May 24.

2. The Leodensian Burger – To honour Leeds Food and Drink Festival's tenth anniversary, Almost Famous has created a commemorative burger, The Leodensian. It's a double cheeseburger with a huge list of extra ingredients including bacon, Yorkshire crisps, shoestring onions, Yorkshire relish, blue cheese dressing and topped with a Wensleydale cheese ball. 3. Grapeful – Leeds' first ever 'pop up' wine festival is offering access to unlimited tasting of over 100 wines from 12 different countries around the world. Leeds Town Hall, May 23 – 24.

4. MEAT Leeds at MEATliquor – A special Leeds inspired food and drink combo featuring 'gravy fries' and unique cocktails for £6.MEATliquor, May 22 – June 7.

5. Leeds Loves Cocktails – 38 cocktail bars in the city are collaborating to promote the best mixed drinks over a week of events, tastings and special sessions. Various, June 1 – 7.

6. Thai Cooking School – Discover the art of Thai cooking and culture, then use your new found knowledge to prepare unique dishes before sitting down to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Chaophraya, May 30.

7. Handmade Yorkshire – Some of the finest chefs from around the region will be hosting exciting cookery demonstrations alongside mark stalls and live entertainment. Victoria Gardens, June 5 – 7.

8. La Festa Del Pescatore – Get ready to be whisked away to the Mediterranean with Salvo's 'Feast of the Ocean', with a special menu for seafood lovers featuring fresh fish, lobster, oysters, scallops, shellfish and more. Salvos, May 22.

9. Leeds Feast – The Grand Finale of Leeds Indie Food Festival, held in partnership with the team at Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds Feast is a weekend celebrating the city's stellar food and drink scene in the historic surroundings of Tetley Brewery's original headquarters. The Tetley, May 23 – 24.

10. Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show – To finish festival with a bang, this show promises to be a weekend of food focused fun, featuring some of the city's best chefs in the live demo kitchen.Millennium Square, June 5 – 7.

This year, the Leeds Food and Drink Festival is part of 'Leeds Food Month', a celebration of Leeds' vibrant, ever-evolving food and drink scene and the first event of its kind spanning four weeks of food heaven. Over 100 of the best-loved restaurants and bars will participate in the event, taking visitors on a culinary tour of Leeds, offering a wide variety of delectable delights to enjoy along the way.

Taking place from May 7 until June 7 'Leeds Food Month' begins with the Leeds Independent Food Festival, which leads into the Leeds Food and Drink Festival. The month then culminates in the three-day Yorkshire Food and Drink Show in Millennium Square.

Leeds Food and Drink Festival is part of a month long celebration of food culture, producers and products across Leeds during May and June 2015, sponsored by Asda.

Now in its 10th year, Leeds Food and Drink Festival is partnering with Leeds Indie Food Festival and the Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show to create the biggest celebration of urban food in the UK and the first Leeds Food Month.
