The Engineering and Manufacturing sector in Greater Lincolnshire

News provided by The World of Work on Monday 15th Jan 2018

If you look around, you will quickly see buildings which have been engineered, or products and cars which have been manufactured.

Together, the Engineering and Manufacturing industry create and produce goods and structures which we use every day.

Greater Lincolnshire boasts over 2350 Engineering and Manufacturing employers operating in power engineering, chemical, steel and motorsport engineering which is why this sector is full of creative and innovative people.

The region has a long tradition within the industry (we created the first rubber-tyred vehicle) so it’s no surprise that successful and exciting engineering and manufacturing employers such as Siemens and NMB Minebea have a home here.

And within this exciting industry are equally exciting job roles too:

Civil Engineers: All the buildings and structures you see have had a civil engineering design them and manage the construction.

Clinical Engineers: We need someone to create, develop and repair the equipment used for diagnosing and treating patients.

Aerosapce Engineer: Truly out of this world, Aerospace engineers design, build and maintain planes, spacecraft and satellites.

Quarry Engineer: Fancy a career exploring and managing new sites at home and overseas?

Car Manufacturer: It’s not all robots! We need workers on the assembly lines to manufacture our vehicles.

Sheet metal worker: By cutting and joining metal you could create machines which manufacture other goods!

And these are just a handful! Jump into the World of Engineering and Manufacturing to explore a diverse career path now!
