Tacos Corazon Westfield Cafe Court Opening

News provided by Corazon on Friday 17th May 2019

Tacos Corazón launches in Westfield’s Café Court this spring: a taqueria-style, casual offshoot of celebrated, independent restaurant Corazón, in Soho.

Corazón – meaning ‘heart’ in Spanish - is the passion project from couple Laura Sheffield and Paul Daniel. They’ve spent many years managing and cooking in some of the UK's most admired restaurants, including at Corbin & King, Smiths of Smithfield, and The Riding House Café.

Laura’s interest in Mexican cuisine has been a lifelong affair, having grown up in the heart of Texas. To bring their version of sunny Mexico back to London, Laura and Paul

have travelled throughout Mexico’s diverse culinary regions and the California coast, working in distinguished Mexican restaurants and learning from local cooks and suppliers. ‘Tacos Corazón’ respects the Corazón ethos: completely fresh, feel good food and drink, served with a sunny spirit.

As in Soho, Tacos Corazon will feature tacos at the heart of the menu, all served on freshly nixtmalised corn tortillas. The celebrated Baja Fish and Carne Asada tacos will both make a trip to the new West London home. But unique to Westfield, Tacos Corazon will debut the legendary ‘Al Pastor’ taco: Marinated, spit roast pork shoulder, grilled pineapple, white onion & coriander served from a traditional trompo, as well as a Huevos Rancheros taco: fried egg, ranchera salsa, black beans, queso fresco, pickled onions and avocado. Snacks will feature Elote: Mexican corn grilled and served with epazote mayo, guajillo chili & cheese. For a sweet finish, they’ll offer a new Chocolate Tres Leches Cake: chocolate sponge soaked in three milks and topped with a toasted marshmallow frosting.

Alongside this, Tacos Corazon will offer a concise list of freshly made soft drinks including Hibiscus Iced Tea infused with Jamaica flowers, cinnamon & orange, and an Iced Coffee Horchata: Toasted almond and rice milk with Mexican vanilla, cinnamon & cold brew. Corazon’s signature Margarita will be available frozen or on the rocks, both made from a housemade mix of fresh lime and grapefruit zest, prepared freshly each morning.

From Laura Sheffield, Founder & Operator:

We are thrilled to partner with Westfield and offer a new audience the opportunity to embrace the balmy sunshine of Mexico, in London! We could not be more excited to share our love of Mexican ‘tacos y mas’ in a new, more concise and casual setting. Everything we do in our new home will retain what’s important to us: the freshest salsas and marinades, punchiest drinks, and a bright, sunny spirit. Mexican Food, for London // HECHO EN LONDON
