Poligon Introduces Small Asian Elephant to Kickstarter in support of Elephant Family.

News provided by Poligon on Tuesday 30th Sep 2014

Poligon launched its range of foldable animal sculptures campaign on Kickstarter on September 10, successfully surpassing their goal of £15,000 in only their second day of their campaign. Creating a range of insects and the first of their sculptures; Penguin, Gorilla and Humpback Whale available in both stainless steel and brass.

Now with only a few weeks to go, Poligon has teamed up with Elephant Family, the UK’s charity organisation working to save the Asian elephants. Elephant Family is known for their involvement with the Arts, and raises funds for securing elephant and wildlife habitat, supporting local communities to reduce incidents of human-elephant conflict by highlighting UK wide education programmes, publicity and lobbying governments and corporations to take actions.  www.elephantfamily.org

The Small Asian Elephant from Poligon which was showcased at Designjunction during The London Design Festival, and requested by so many followers to appear as part of their range on Kickstarter; is a new type of design, a kind of hybrid between the way they make the insect range and the larger pieces. Available in stainless steel for a pledge of £50 and in brass for £45, Poligon will be donating one elephant per pledge made on their Kickstarter page, helping Elephant Family in their organisation in creative fundraising activities directed to helping the Asian Elephants.

About Poligon:
Poligon is a range of animal sculptures inspired by some of the most wonderful creatures on earth, taking their form and simplifying it whilst keeping their identity. The metal sculptures arrive in flat sheet form which are then sculpted into their final form. Magnets are already fixed onto the sheet so that the individual elements of the sculpture are rapidly assembled into the final piece. Poligon was presented in London at Designjunction during The London Design Festival, September 18-21 as part of their Kickstarter campaign launch.

Kickstarter Campaign: Poligon set its initial goal of £15,000 successfully funded in only two days into their campaign. The funds will go into further development, and defining details such as fold lines and tolerances. Poligon has created a range of insect based sculptures, ready to be made and that can be shipped soon after the campaign ends. The Kickstarter Pledges range from £10 to £290 and include the following: Bedbugs, Woodlouse, Ant, Mantis, Dragonfly, Insect Combo, Penguin, Gorilla, Whale and the ultimate pledge : Poligon will design your favourite Insect + 50 pieces when pledging £2000 or more. Poligon has recently introduced a new stretch goal of £55K, a Polar Bear available for £200 in brass and £225 in stainless steel.
