One Vision Housing sponsors Liverpool Homeless Football Club

One Vision Housing is delighted to announce its continued sponsorship of Liverpool Homeless Football Club (LHFC), after a successful year of partnership working and supporting the team to compete in matches up and down the country.

Liverpool Homeless Football Club was set up with a mission to provide positive experiences for homeless people, giving them the chance to build confidence, develop team and social skills, while also improving their fitness. The 11-a-side team is currently 6th position in the Liverpool County FA 'Zingari Combination League'.

In addition to paying for the team's new kit, One Vision Housing (OVH) covers other associated costs, including transport, pitch hire, referee fees, refreshments and training equipment.

OVH is keen to support the football club in its mission, and during 2015 they worked together to house a number of local homeless people by matching them with available properties and offering them tenancy support services through OVH's Independent Living Service.

Roy Williams, Chief Executive of One Vision Housing, said: “In the last 12 months we've established a fantastic relationship with Liverpool Homeless Football Club, both on and off the pitch. The club shares so many of our values, and we have great ambitions for what we can achieve together in the future.

John Finnigan, Chairman of Liverpool Homeless Football Club, said: “It's great to have One Vision Housing on board, they are extremely passionate and supportive of our cause. Without their support and sponsorship the team couldn't possible exist."

Homelessness is an issue that OVH and other housing associations are working hard to combat. By working closely with local councils, OVH regularly allocated individuals in situations of homelessness into adequate housing, while also supporting them to maintain and sustain their tenancy.

One Vision's tenancy support service works closely with those identified as vulnerable tenants; with a team of fully-trained staff dedicated to providing assistance, to help them overcome obstacles, such as financial or health concerns.
