Netanyahu says the Holy Quran is correct

President Trump says US recognises Israel’s illegal occupation of Jerusalem

On Monday, 17th July, 2017, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressing a Christian evangelical audience in Washington, said: “When I say we have no greater friends than Christian supporters of Israel, I know you’ve always stood with us.” He further said: “America has no better friend than Israel and Israel has no better friend than America”, adding “And Israel has no better friend in America than you”. (The Times of Israel, 18th July 2017)

The Holy Quran, addressing the beleaguered early Muslim community, advises the Muslims: “O you who believe, take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends of each other” (5:51). Many Christians quote this verse to try foster the false belief that Islam is a racist or bigoted religion. If this is true, then Netanyahu must also be a racist or bigot. In making this statement, the Holy Quran is making a simple statement of fact, which has been borne out throughout history.

In the case of Israel, it is borne out by the Balfour Declaration and Teresa May’s statement that Britain should be proud of it. We suggest that Britain should be ashamed of the Balfour Declaration, which has led to the death and homelessness of millions of innocent Palestinians. From the Balfour Declaration to Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem, each event has set the seal of truth on the above quoted Quranic verse. Jerusalem is lost to the Muslims because they did not heed the Quranic warning about the Jews and the Christians: “take not the Jews and the Christians for friends (i.e., in matters of national interest)”.

There are, of course, some Christians and Jews to whom justice is more important than religious or national allegiance and they have condemned Trump’s action, but until Muslims learn to look after their own interests and stop relying on others they will continue to be humiliated in this way.

The Ahmadiyya Association for the Propagation of Islam (Ahmadiyya Anjuman Ishaat Islam) was established in Lahore in 1914 to promote the informed understanding of Islam in the West. In the UK it operated the Shah Jehan Mosque in Woking until the early 1960s. Its new headquarters is at Dar-us-Salaam, 15 Stanley Avenue, Wembley, HA0 4JQ, UK. In 1924, in Berlin, it built the first mosque in Continental Europe of the modern era. The Berlin Mosque is now recognised by the German government as part of the German national heritage. From its European and other centres around the world this organisation has taught that Islam promotes peace, harmony and mutual respect between all communities and nationalities.
