Motorcyclists get ready to roll across Essex

Motorcyclists across Essex/the East of England are getting geared up for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance’s biggest event of the year.

Registration is open for the Charity’s famous Ford Dunton to Harwich Motorcycle Run on Sunday 9^th September.

Last year’s event saw more than 3,000 riders make the 60-mile trip across Essex in aid of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, raising over £38,000. With each life-saving mission costing around £2,500, this single event could save 15 lives.

Events Manager Fay Boissieux commented: “We’re always really grateful for the support we get for this event from the biking community. They always turn out in large numbers, making this a memorable and successful event.

“We are looking forward to seeing many familiar faces on the day.”

Riders who pre-register by August 31^st will be placed in the first two groups to leave on the day, an opportunity not to be missed. They will also benefit from a book of discounts on kit cleaning and bike servicing as well as complementary cake and more.

Tickets are priced at £10 for a single rider and £15 for a rider with pillion passenger. This year riders can also buy raffle tickets for £5 when they enter to be in with the chance of winning; a first prize of a branded biker suite worth £1000 sponsored by Cannon BMW motorcycles, (2^nd prize) a helmet fitting by Colchester Kawasaki or (3^rd prize) a Carol Nash insurance voucher worth £50.

At the finish in Harwich riders can join the free Family Fun Day, a day of unbeatable entertainment beside the seaside. Spectators can cheer on the bikers as the cross the line and enjoy everything from live music to a kid’s zone, as well as trade stands on Harwich Green.
