MedEquip4Kids asks Manchester to support children’s health on Giving Tuesday

News provided by MedEquip4Kids on Friday 27th Nov 2015

Children's charity MedEquip4Kids, in association with CAF and other leading Manchester charities, are proud to be part of the “Manchester Gives More” campaign on Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving on 1 December - a remedy to the pressures of Christmas shopping, and an opportunity to help the causes we all care about. The “Manchester Gives More” campaign wants to show that Manchester is the most caring city in the UK, and the charities involved are asking everyone to join in and help.

Manchester is a city we can all be proud of: the home of two legendary football teams, as well as Oasis, the Stone Roses and Elbow, the Royal Exchange Theatre, Imperial War Museum and the Whitworth Gallery. Most importantly, we have a spirit like no other. We are a caring, proud and inclusive community.

But budgets cuts have hit the city hard, and with a rise in homelessness and an NHS stretched to breaking point this winter, it's more important than ever that we show our generous spirit at Christmas time by reaching out to those in need.

Manchester charity MedEquip4Kids this year celebrates its 30th anniversary of supporting children's healthcare by funding equipment not available from limited NHS resources. The charity improves the health of 128,000 babies and children a year by providing vital medical equipment for neo natal and children's units to help deliver lifesaving care, as well as play and sensory equipment, and resources for children's mental health services.

You can support MedEquip4Kids on Giving Tuesday by taking part in their “B Kids 4 Kids” campaign. Why not organise a fun and childish fundraising activity in your workplace, so you can all be kids for a day to help kids? Or you could sign up for one of the charity's challenge events, or simply make a donation.

To donate £5 (or another amount) to MedEquip4Kids now, text "£5 Kidz05" to 70070.
