Liverpool is Revitalised by Studio 2 Live Lounge

News provided by Media Agency Group on Thursday 3rd Oct 2013

Liverpool’s illustrious Parr Street Studio complex has seen one of its recording studios transformed into a new city-central hotspot, serving Merseyside’s social trendsetters. Under new management but retaining its moniker of ‘Studio 2’, the venue has launched to revitalise the city’s nightlife scene.

While Studio 1 will remain as a recording studio, Studio 2 promises to supply the heart of Liverpool with an ultimate combination of relaxed ambience and decadent food and drink - in addition to operating as the area’s only dedicated jazz, blues, funk and soul live lounge. The BBC Good Food Guide's OLIVE Magazine and Esquire have already listed Studio 2 as their bar of the month, while The Independent magazine has coined it one of the UK’s top 50 venues.

Studio 2 is situated just a ten minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street station on Parr Street, and kicked off a new era with an electrifying live performance from Manchester’s own blues pioneer Kyla Brox - daughter of legendary blues singer Victor Brox.

The studio-cum-bar has seen an impressive collection of musical icons sewn into its fabric, with the likes of Black Sabbath, Björk, Take That, Coldplay and The Smiths having recorded there. The Studio 2 schedule will include live music from well-established artists as well as the hottest newcomers, with confirmed acts including Anthony Strong, Go Go Penguin, Empirical, Jo Harman, Soweto Kinch, Julia Biel, Stevie Williams & The Most Wanted Band, and the piano jazz of Orli Nyles Quartet.

A socialite in the city said: “Parr Street is steadily emerging as the new place to be in Liverpool, covering everything from indulgent burgers to a bohemian art café – Studio 2 adds a huge, quality piece to the jigsaw and will multi-task as the place to go for drinking, dining and live music without breaking the bank.”
