By delivering conveyors to Alfamart for the 9th time, Interroll, a worldwide provider of key products and solutions for internal logistics, continued the successful cooperation with one of Indonesia’s leading retailers, serving 2.5 million customers daily with approximately 7,000 stores across Indonesia.
Alfamart recently took its new distribution center in Karawang into operation. The layout of the installation was done by the system integrator Flexlink. Interroll delivered the conveyors.
“Interroll conveyor stand out for their energy efficiency and zero maintenance. That is very vital to any company located in Indonesia where power supply is very limited”, said Mr.Eko Kriswantoro of Flexlink.
The innovative 24 volt technology provided by Interroll ensures a seamless integration into any intralogistics system including zeropressure accumulation. The RollerDrives are only driven when there are goods that need to be transported in the respective zone. This is not only much more efficient, but also quieter. What’s more, it can be easily adapted for any retrofits and replacement of mechanical systems.
The conveyors were strategically purchased to meet the booming requirement by fast growing Alfamart minimarts. In 2013, around 1,000 minimarts were opened. Alfamart will focus more on big cities in Sumatera, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi in 2014. With the brand new conveyors, Alfamart will be able to handle over 4000 SKUs in their Karawang distribution center and timely deliver the required goods to 420 minimarts in West Java, Indonesia.
Mr Ipang Budi Santoso of Alfamart is very satisfied with the cooperation with Interroll and Flexlink: “We started our cooperation back in 2008 and are still impressed by the reliability and efficiency of the conveyors as well as the firstclass service provided.”
