GvHD Hub | Quarter Three 2020 Update

News provided by Scientific Education Support on Thursday 22nd Oct 2020

Work continued at a pace during the third quarter of 2020. The new website for the GvHD Hub was launched to great success in July and has seen a rise in readership. A new editorial theme exploring considerations for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation from mismatched unrelated donors was selected mid-July.

A well-attended meeting with the Steering Committee was held for the first time virtually in July. These key opinion leaders in the field of GvHD commended the GvHD Hub on continuing to provide up-to-date, highly technical information to healthcare professionals during the global pandemic. The GvHD Hub podcast channel was introduced to great approval and plans for future content for the hub were discussed. The role of endothelial cells in GvHD, sequencing of anti-GvHD therapies, impact of novel agents on GvHD, and pathophysiology of GvHD with a focus on microbiota were chosen as key topics.

In late August and early September, the GvHD Hub covered the Virtual 46th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) on Twitter. Interviews with key experts in the field were also performed along with the publication of concise summaries of important sessions.

The GvHD Hub is an open-access online resource dedicated to providing balanced, credible, and up-to-date medical education on GvHD brought to you by Scientific Education Support (SES) who strive to bring increased knowledge and awareness to healthcare professionals via collaborative networks across the globe. The GvHD Hub is run in partnership with the European LeukemiaNet (ELN).

The GvHD Hub owes thanks to its industry partners, Incyte (Silver) and Novartis (Bronze) for their continued support of the platform.
