Further investment in woodworking machinery aids Kitchen Magic

Leading Midlands kitchen refurbishment company Kitchen Magic is stepping up its already considerable production capabilities with the addition of a state of the art new piece of woodworking machinery. The new CNC (Computer Numeric Control) drilling machine is expected to speed up production at the firm’s Birmingham city centre workshop.

“This new CNC equipment reflects our commitment to delivering absolute quality to our customers,” comments Samantha Davies, Kitchen Magic’s Marketing Manager. “It will greatly aid the production process, cutting lead times and resulting in kitchen fittings which are 100% accurate and aesthetically attractive.”

CNC technology

CNC, or computer numeric control, refers to a production process in which a machine tool, in this case a drill, is controlled by a computer. The computer in turn is directed by human input and instructions via a software interface. This makes it possible to combine the best of human ingenuity and creativity with the accuracy that only a computer can provide.

In practice, it means that a sheet of wood for a cupboard door, drawer front or similar can be placed into the machine, the program started and then the required holes drilled out quickly and with absolute accuracy. This greatly speeds up the production process and ensures that each unit is fit to purpose.

State of the art production facility

The new machinery joins the already considerable bank of equipment in place at Kitchen Magic’s Birmingham production facility. The cutting edge facility is located in the city centre and occupies premises measuring more than 20,000 square feet. Kitchen Magic itself has been in operation since 1985, and this latest update is a reflection of the changing methods and technology utilised in the craft of kitchen refurbishment.

“For almost three decades we have provided an unparalleled level of service to customers throughout the UK,” says Ms. Davies, “and we have always made sure we keep up with the times.”

“Ensuring that we have the most modern up-to-date equipment at our disposal means that we can continue to deliver the best quality products and services to our customers,” she adds.
