Fire Station Creative opened in a blaze of glory in July 2015 when John Byrne did the honours and cut the ribbon.
This is a groundbreaking project - kick started by a group of local volunteers, working closely with Fife Council to adopt a new approach to old properties and is now a thriving creative hub in the centre of Dunfermline town.
The hub accommodates 20 studios, an art therapy studio, a classroom, a gallery and a cafe.
The ambition is to support artists at every step of their journey - from inspiration to creation and so far the existence of the building seems to be facilitating just that.
The 5th exhibition which is by the Dunfermline Fife Printmakers Workshop is just being hung, the residents are warming up for a weekend of open studios, the teachers using the classroom are polishing their students work, local high school students will be hanging their final year work and groups using the art therapy studio are displaying their services. It promises to be vibrant!
As if that wasn't enough, Arbikie - a local distillery in Arbroath that grow their own ingredients for their gin and vodka will be serving at the bar on Friday night. Gin with blueberries and a twist of lemon - delicious! The Real Hot Chocolate Company will be launching their range of artisan products - madagascan chocolate in a variety of blends - from milky sweet to 100% pure espresso shot. Chocoholics beware.
The weekend starts at 6pm on Friday 27 November - come and join us!
