Starvecrow is the world's first "selfie" movie as it's an assembly of smartphone clips shot by the actors themselves.
Starvecrow's publicity poster describes the film as "A Dark Demented Love Story". The film deals with a bunch of important issues inclusing sexual abuse, rape and incest. The storyline is "cast-sourced" as it comes from the young actors themsleves.
Downton's Abbey's "Spratt", Jeremy Swift, plays a pervert in the film. The is hired to castrate someone buts ends up being castrated himself. In the film Jeremy is shown lying in a pool of blood in a bath wearing a blood soaked adult nappy and nothing else. Jeremy is well known internationally and a highly respected actor.
David Bark Jones is also in Starvecrow. He is an award winning theatre and movie actor. David played the gay lawyer in Guy Ritchie's "Rock'n'Rolla". In Starvecrow David plays a father who's (secretly) sexually assaulting his daughter's best friend.
The film premieres next Friday November 24 at the ICA in London. The ICA is famous for supporting and exhibiting all forms of Art. Much of the work on show exhibited at ICA is ground breaking and often controversial.
It is likely Starvecrow will be banned in many countries due to the difficult subject matter however it is not yet banned in the UK.
Here's a link to the ICA's website and the film's trailer. Young actor Skye Lourie is seen breaking down as she described what's been happening to her - https://www.ica.art/whats-on/starvecrow-qa
With the media focus on Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and sexual abuse Starvecrow is a disturbing yet accurate reflection of our times.
