  • Luxurious new wet spa for the ultimate in relaxation
  • Refurbished changing areas and upgraded indoor tennis courts
  • Second investment in club improvements over five years

David Lloyd Leisure is investing £1.45 million in its Raynes Park club as part of a major programme to continue providing members with unrivalled facilities to achieve their health and fitness goals.

As part of the ambitious project at the club in Bushey Road, Raynes Park, Europe's leading health, sports and leisure group is installing a brand new wet spa facility to provide members with an luxurious area to escape from everyday life, and to help de-stress post and pre workout.

Members will be able to relax in the state-of-the-art hydro spa, unwind in the sauna and steam room or take the time to recharge on the new heated beds. The new spa facilities will be fully accessible to all members at no extra charge.

Another feature of the investment includes refurbished male, female and family locker rooms. Additional, larger changing rooms are also being built to increase comfort levels for all members.

Other areas which have also benefitted from the investment include the indoor pool and tennis courts, which have been upgraded and resurfaced, providing members with the highest- quality conditions in order to perfect their hobby.

The £1.45m investment is the second investment in the Raynes Park club. The first was completed in 2009 and saw the installation of a new DL Kids facility to provide children aged 0-11 years with an extensive range of programmes specifically designed to complement the way they learn in pre-school and school time.

The club was also fitted with a new bespoke DLicious cafebar, where members are able to unwind, work or enjoy a meal in modern, stylish and relaxing surroundings - including an adult-only seating area - which offers the whole family a great range of healthy options from the award-winning menu** integrating David Lloyd Leisure's approach to eating with its exercise expertise.

Work on the Raynes Park club, as part of a wider £50m facilities investment programme across its estate, began in June, with completion due in September.

David Lloyd Raynes Park general manager David Naumann said: “We are very excited to be able to offer the Raynes Park community these stunning new facilities for the whole family, which will support them in their health and fitness goals as well as providing a superb environment in which to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.

“Completion of the second investment in club facilities means there is now something special for everyone to enjoy; adults will be able to relax and unwind in the new spa area and both individuals and families will benefit from the new, larger locker and changing rooms. We've already had great member feedback following the first investment, which saw the implementation of a new DL Kids area, created just for children to have fun and get active and the DLicious cafebar has proved perfect for anyone who has worked up a healthy appetite, wants to relax or catch up with friends and business.

“David Lloyd Leisure's continued investment in Raynes Park demonstrates its commitment to providing the best health, sports and leisure facilities for all ages and abilities. The team cannot wait to welcome both new and existing members to enjoy the enhanced offering along with all of the club's extensive facilities, services and expertise,” added David.

In addition to the new and refurbished facilities, David Lloyd Raynes Park offers indoor and outdoor tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, badminton courts, crèche, sports shop, Pure Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy.
