David Hicks Awarded ‘Most Popular Scrum Professional’ at UK Agile Awards 2015

David Hicks, CEO of Agile training and consultancy agil8.com, has won the award for 'Most Popular Agile Professional' in the 2015 seventh annual Agile Awards ceremony held at the Bloomsbury Hotel, London on 13 November.

The UK Agile Awards is a non-profit event that recognises the greatest Agile achievements over the last year across 16 award categories, some of which are judged by a panel of experts and some which are voted for by the public. This year the event raised money for Help for Heroes to support wounded servicemen and servicewomen, and their families. The poignant keynote speech was given by Help for Heroes Ambassador Robert Cromey-Hawke.

With over 25 years in the field, David has been responsible for some of the largest and most complex Agile implementations in the world, and is uniquely qualified across the complete range of today's Lean and Agile methods, including Scrum, Kanban, the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe), and DSDM. David is a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and has provided Certified Scrum training to over 4,000 individuals over the past 7 years. Speaking after receiving his Award, David said:

“I have spent my career supporting organisations and individuals transitioning to Agile. For me, Agile remains as important as ever, and ever more relevant in today's world. This was a voting category in this year's awards, and so I am enormously grateful to the student who nominated me and all my students and clients from the UK and across Europe who voted for me. I hugely enjoy teaching and coaching and am looking forward to helping many more with their Agile learning and development over coming years."
