Contemporary Plasterwork

News provided by Fire Station Creative on Wednesday 7th Sep 2016

Husband and wife team, Chalk, are determined to revitalise a traditional skill that has fallen into relative obscurity.

Steven and Ffion Blench specialise in ornamental plasterwork and have been involved in numerous prestigious restoration projects including Stirling Castle, Blair Atholl Castle and The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh. They are currently working for a private client, reinstating ornate cornicing in a run down manor house.

Their craftsmanship is exemplary and has been put to use in a stunning new collection of contemporary plasterwork – for walls or ceilings. The design is really relevant to today’s interior trends and the execution admirable.

Some of their work is currently on display at Fire Station Creative, Dunfermline, until 2 October 2016. The exhibition, Future Heritage has examples of work through the ages including a piece by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
