Cisco & Asystec to Invest €200k in Big Data Venture

The world's largest supplier of networking products, CISCO, is to invest €200,000 with Asystec, a leading data analytics and data management solutions company in a big data joint venture.

In recent years, CISCO has developed an extensive Analytics Portfolio globally to capture real-time opportunities, simplify business operations and enhance customer experiences. Privately owned Asystec has positioned itself very successfully as a leading data analytics provider in Ireland and the UK, and already boasts an impressive line up of global brands and multinationals as clients. The company has invested in data analytics 'innovation labs' to meet the demand for data management solutions for the Ireland and the UK market.

This joint venture will see Asystec delivering their unique methodology and expertise in Data Analytics while CISCO delivers infrastructure and expertise to provide a complete Big Data solution.

Speaking at the announcement of the joint venture, Asystec CEO Les Byrne said,''When it comes to data analytics you need a number of components to make it deliver; you have to form alliances, and Cisco was an easy choice; in terms of direction we are exactly aligned with their future vision.

As well as the financial investment by CISCO, Asystec will be investing in the venture in terms of HR, marketing and training at the recently launched 'Innovation labs' at Asystec offices in Belfast, Dublin, Limerick and Cork.
