Channel 5 Weather Presenter Gets Chocola-tea for charity

Channel 5 Weather Presenter, Sian Welby, is joining up with The Sick Children's Trust charity to encourage people across the UK to get chocola-tea for its biggest annual fundraiser – Big Chocolate Tea.

Big Chocolate Tea encourages people to host a tea party, cake sale or bake-off in the last week of April, and donate the proceeds to The Sick Children's Trust to support families with seriously ill children in hospital. By raising at least £30, a family can be provided with a room in one of the charity's 'Homes from Home' for one night. Sian says:

“This April, I'm joining The Sick Children's Trust in its most chocola-tea fundraising event - Big Chocolate Tea. I'm inviting you to join me in enjoying a cuppa and a chocolate treat, while helping to raise lots of money to support families with seriously ill children in hospitals across the UK.

“Host a Big Chocolate Tea party, cake sale or bake-off during the last week of April and donate the proceeds to The Sick Children's Trust. You can join in the Big Chocolate Tea fun at home, at work or at school, and with family, colleagues and friends. And what's more, The Sick Children's Trust will give you an exciting free pack to get you started! I've already got mine and have been practising my own showstopper bake to impress my weather colleagues.

“So, what are you waiting for? Dust off your apron; crack those eggs and let's make a difference to thousands of families with sick children. By taking part in Big Chocolate Tea, you can keep them together with their sick child, as they face the most difficult times.”

It costs around £30 per night to provide a family with a room in one of the charity's 'Homes from Home' which include access to communal kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms and dining rooms alongside a direct telephone line from each bedroom to the hospital ward.
