Calling all quizzers. Can you help your local life-saving Charity?

Do you know who played the title role in the movie Dr Who and the Daleks, the number of FA Cup Finals that have featured a hat-trick, or the year that Coronation Street first aired? If you came up with the name Peter Cushing, the number 4 or the year 1960, well done!

If you’re intrigued by these kinds of questions, you’re just the sort of person Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) is looking for. The Charity is calling on quiz fans across Essex and Hertfordshire to get behind its Big Pub Quiz fundraising initiative next March and persuade their favourite landlord to organise one.

EHAAT’s Fundraising Team has created a Big Pub Quiz pack which includes all the information needed to put on a first rate quiz night.

Keen landlords can choose the questions that suit them, and quiz-loving punters just need to pull up a chair and do what they do best.

Sabi Stafford, Essex Fundraising Manager at EHAAT said: “It would be great if everyone in Essex or Hertfordshire who regularly organises a quiz could get behind the EHAAT Big Pub Quiz.

“Even if you’ve never hosted a quiz before, our pack contains all the information you’ll need to put on a great quiz, and we have come up with a selection of questions that will appeal to all levels of quizzer.

“The money raised will be going towards keeping this vital life-saving service operational, so everyone is a winner.”

How well do you know Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, your local life-saving Charity?

Notes to Editor:

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) is a Charity that provides a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.

The service is provided free of charge but, unlike NHS emergency services, the Charity receives no direct funding from the Government or National Lottery. It costs in excess of £500,000 every month to keep the service operational and saving lives, and this would not be possible without the generosity and goodwill of people and businesses of Essex, Hertfordshire and beyond.

Each of the Charity’s HEMS teams consist of a Pilot, a Co-pilot, a Pre-hospital Care Doctor and a Critical Care Paramedic.

These teams, made up of highly-skilled individuals, tended to 1505 patients in 2017/18 and are the backbone of your local life-saving Charity.

The fleet, consisting of two Air Ambulances, and four Rapid Response Vehicles (RRVs - cars) operates seven days a week from 7am to 9pm. After sunset, the Critical Care Team continues to provide the service using Rapid Response Vehicles.

In addition, a Rapid Response Vehicle is operational on a Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm until 2am with a Pre-hospital Care Doctor and Critical Care Paramedic.
