Local business besley & copp will be getting chocola-tea for charity on Thursday 24 May as they take part in The Sick Children’s Trust’s Big Chocolate Tea fundraising campaign.

The brand management company, which has been running for over 260 years in Exeter, has selected The Sick Children’s Trust as its national 2018 charity partner. Later this month, aspiring bakers from the company will pop on their pinnies and get baking in preparation for a Big Chocolate Tea cake sale to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

The Sick Children’s Trust runs free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation across the UK, supporting families with seriously ill children undergoing lifesaving treatment at the country’s leading paediatric hospitals. besley & copp are taking part in the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign to raise money to support more families with free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation. The Big Chocolate Tea event will take place on Thursday 24 May, 12pm- 3pm, outside the besley & copp office on Sowton Industrial Estate. Zita Racz, Account Manager at besley & copp, says:

“This year, besley & copp decided to support both a local charity and national charity close to our hearts. And although we are a small team we are very passionate about doing what we can to raise money for both The Sick Children’s Trust and Elf, our local chosen charity.

“As a team we thought that getting involved with The Sick Children’s Trust’s Big Chocolate Tea campaign was the perfect way to raise some money. We will be busily baking away to fill a table with tasty treats and we hope lots of people will come along to help fundraise for this fantastic charity.”

The Sick Children’s Trust supports around 4,000 families with seriously ill children in hospital every year across its ten ‘Homes from Home’. While the accommodation is provided free of charge to families, it costs the charity £30 to support a family for one night. Rebecca Nilsson, Corporate Partnerships Officer at The Sick Children’s Trust, says:

“We’re delighted to have been chosen as the national charity partner for besley & copp and very much appreciate all the fundraising they have done so far.

“As a charity we rely entirely on voluntary donations to keep our ‘Homes from Home’ running. Partnerships with companies like besley & copp are so important, because with their support we are able to be there for more families with seriously ill children in hospital, relieving some of the stresses and worries that come with having a child in hospital.”

If you would like to attend the Big Chocolate Tea at besley & copp, head to their office, 3 Orchard Court, Heron Road, between 12pm and 3pm on Thursday 24 May.
