News provided by Pressat Wire on Tuesday 27th May 2014

In conjunction with Professor Stephen Martin, University of Salford, the BBKA is pleased to announce that it will be part funding a three-year PhD studentship for Laura Brettell.

The BBKA funding helped impress the University selection committee and Professor Martin was able to secure the PTE position for Laura (a Postgraduate training excellence award reserved for top candidates).

Laura will begin her work September / October this year; this will involve the study of the key drivers behind over-wintering honey bee colony losses in the UK.

David Aston, BBKA President, said: “We look forward to meeting Laura and to working with her in this important subject area.”
