An Awards Hat Trick for Wenlock Spring - Shropshire Family Business Scoops Three Industry Gongs

News provided by Pressat Wire on Thursday 27th Aug 2015

Shropshire's Wenlock Spring has three reasons to celebrate - a hat trick of awards in an industry competition. The Wolverton-based family business walked away with three gongs for taste and packaging in the annual drinks event, run by The British Bottlers' Institute.

There was a record number of entries in this year's competition, which attracts drinks producers from across the globe. Drinks, from ales and beers to waters and soft drinks, are blind tasted by a panel of experts and packaging is judged on its shape, style, type of closure as well as label and overall design.

Judges said the standard of entries in this year's event was incredibly high. Wenlock Spring, which provides still and sparkling waters for the hotel, restaurant, hospitality and specialist retail sectors, will be presented with its awards on October 22nd, at a gala dinner in London.

The Natural Choice

Wenlock Spring is celebrating 25 years in business. Its journey began just over a quarter of a century ago, as an idea for diversification. Today the name Wenlock Spring is synonymous with premium quality and fine dining. Wenlock Spring sources its water - and its name - from a spring which dates back to the 11th century, situated in a Site of Special Scientific Interest, near Church Stretton, on the stunning Wenlock Edge. It is here, just as nature intended, that the purest spring water is sourced. Today it celebrates an enviable reputation, first class clients and many awards.

Matthew Orme, Director of Wenlock Spring, said: "We are delighted to be recognised yet again by The British Bottlers' Institute - an organisation which is an avid supporter of the bottling and packaging industry - especially as we are also celebrating our 25th anniversary. Bottling the highest quality spring water, sourced responsibly and packaged in an environmentally conscious way, is at the heart of our business. These awards are testament to that."
